Bonanza Saloon
Bonanza Saloon located on "C" Street, is one of the handful of noted saloons that lines the wooden planked streets of this historic town. During its heyday following the gold and silver rush in Nevada, Virginia City grew from the ground up within a year of the discovery of the Comstock Lode. At that time there were 42 saloons to accommodate the untold numbers of prospectors who flocked to Virginia City in the hopes of finding either gold or silver during the 1860's.
Today the Bonanza Saloon is one of the few antebellum landmark restaurant, bar and casinos lining the streets of this historic town. Known for its warm western atmosphere and good down home western menu, the Bonanza appeals to both the appetite and the eye. When looking for the "old west", the Bonanza Cafe will appeal to those who seek the old dark wooden tables and furniture of a by-gone era. There is also an outdoor seating area with a stupendous view of the mountains which is especially appealing during the warm weather.
In their gaming area there is a small casino and arcade, where the feel of the old western decor continues. Here you will find slot machines, and if you are lucky, there may even be a few penny slots left to amuse you. Since the penny slot machines have virtually disappeared in most gaming areas, one can only hope that the Bonanza keeps theirs' in working order as they add to the flair of the old west atmosphere.
